Industrial Evolution

The average American has comforts and conveniences that many kings of the past never had. We don’t have to go very far back in time to see when most people didn’t have electricity, running water, or indoor plumbing. Therefore, because we have access to the technology and resources that generations before us never had, we should take advantage of this time that we live in. Now some people can even earn a professional income by working at home remotely with no drive time or traffic. The tools to keep ourselves warm, well fed, and healthy are readily available. Let’s not take for granted or be dissatisfied with what we have.

Before blenders food processing was done with a knife.

The industrial revolution brought opportunities for a better life through working away from home and off the farm. Now things are changing; there seems to be a shift back to a better life through work at home. (Especially with over saturated job markets) Our philosophy here at BackwardsProgress.com is to have a foot in both worlds. That is to say we believe that a household is more stable financially and more efficient time-wise if a person has an understanding of how sustaining a home took place in the past and has the knowledge of how to apply our technology and resources to those needs.

In our future blogs we will be exploring more specific details of skills such as: “How to make $320 of cheese in only 6 1/2 hours” and “How to heat your house with only 1 1/2 hours of woodcutting per week”. A diversified portfolio of skills is a good way to ensure the stability of your home and finances. So please visit us again soon so that we can get you into the life that you want.
